Since I don't have TV in my house, I'm dazzlingly slow on this one... but I just finally went to YouTube and watched Nicole Atkins' performance on David Letterman from last week.
Oh. My. God. I love the way she jumps right in before the perfunctory applause even stops and the entire crowd falls silent, and continues relentlessly through "The Way It Is." Even Letterman seems blown away; notice the way he won't let go of her hand at the end. Her performance was elegant and spectacular. Damn, I wish I hadn't missed her show last Thursday at the Croc.
I simply hope there's room for her grace and talent in the craptacular world of major label music...

The singing before the clapping stopped thing seemed more like nerves than gusto to me. But, yeah, this is pretty good stuff. Never heard of her before this.

See? I told you people she was awesome. You need to listen to Betsy.
But what's up with the leggings???

Oh wait, no more leggings, now it's Tegan and Sara. Looks like TIG's becoming a certifiable business endeavor! Good one, girls!
