Man, if I could get you girls anything for Xmas, I'd totally buy you the Croc.
I guess I'll just have to settle for getting you a breast pump. :(

dana--
SO right about that... i was a bit shocked at the price tag. it's gotta be a "hopeful" somebody-will-overpay-to-save-it intitial offering...
give it a month... i would guess the selling price should be maybe 1/2 of that if they REALLY want to sell it as a music venue... which, i'm not a religious man, but i sure have learned how to pray like mad the past few days.
*sigh*

ps- i say, let's have a MONTH of benefit shows, with all the HUGE bands around the world who have played there offering up there services... and reopen it as a non-profit with an "indie rock" board of directors!
pps- the funniest thing would be if Peter Buck (he of the nasty divorce with Stephanie, the current owner) stepped in and bought it...!!! (that was in poor taste, sorry-- but i'd TAKE IT if it happened... SOMEBODY PLEASE BUY IT!)

The building and land aren't included because they lease the space. It does seem high given the circumstances and you'd need to know right off the bat what the rent and triple-net expenses are, even before you factor in all the other expenses.

I wonder if Paul Allen's going to buy it and rename it
EMP 2: electric boog... oh nevermind.

I'm no businessman, but that price tag is for the business alone -- not the building, or the land. Seems kinds pricey for a business that had to close because they had no capital/couldn't make payroll.
I'm sayin' that at this point, they could probably be talked down...
