I'll toss my ratty Red Sox cap into the ring and put my top 10 list up here. Admittedly, I don't think that my selections are going to jibe with a lot of readers here, simply because my tastes tend to be a little more disjointed than most.
Here goes nothing....
10. The Gena Rowlands Band - Flesh & Spirits
9. Avey Tare/Kria Brekkan - Pullhair Rubeye
8. Grinderman - Grinderman
7. Mother and the Addicts - Science Fiction Illustrated
6. Alasdair Roberts - The Amber Gatherers
5. Electrelane - No Shouts, No Calls
4. Dizzee Rascal - Maths and English
3. Von Sudenfed - Tromatic Reflexxxions
2. Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
1. Dungen - Tio Bitar
Comment, agree, disagree, and/or excoriate at will.

Bob, My first thought on reading your list was.... Spoon? Seems so incongruous with your other picks. I was also excited to see Grinderman on there!! Did you see that the Bad Seeds have a new record coming out in 2008?? How exciting is that??

Wait, who stole my Red Sox hat?
I like the inclusion of Dizzee Rascal. That album might be the best album that wasn't really released in the U.S. this year.

FIANLLY, someone has put Electrelane (even if they spelt it wrong) on a year end list. Thank goodness, and you might want to fix the spelling.

I can see where you might get thrown off by my Spoon inclusion...but they are so good. Brilliantly minimalist rock.
And I AM excited about the new Bad Seeds disc. My goal for 2008 is to finally get all of their albums on vinyl. I have a few: From Her To Eternity, Your Funeral...My Trial, Firstborn Is Dead, And No More Shall We Part, and Nocturama, but I need THEM ALL!!!!!!

Wow...I feel like a chump now. Thanks for pointing that misspelling.

That made me think of something. You guys should come up with a Top 10 list of albums from 2007 that you can argue were not technically released this year.
