Tonight in Seattle:

Recommended Show: The Drums at The Crocodile Tomorrow {10/12}

You know that moment when you hear a single song from a band and you know you're going to love them forever and ever and ever? That happened to me the first time I heard "Let's Go Surfing" from The Drums, off their self-titled debut. These guys kick out some seriously catchy pop beats, complete with squee-worthy vocals, and bouncy bouncy goodness.

My boy bought me a copy of their new album, Portamento, recently, and guess what? It's just as good as the first one, and just as dance-party worthy. So it is with HIGH fangirl appreciation that I recommend you get yourselves to The Crocodile tomorrow night {Wednesday, 10/12} to see these boys rock the stage with their awesomeness....and don't forget to wear your dancin' shoes.

I got my ticket, should be a fun show!

Hooray, John! Let us know how much you enjoy it.

This show was fantastic! The show was pretty high energy with lots of dancing and singing along- the crowd was certainly into it. They played pretty much every song I wanted them to play except one- Let's Go Surfing. I kept thinking they were saving it for the end of the show because it's such a catchy and loveable tune....and then the show was over, and it never made the set list. Maybe it's their "Creep" and they don't like playing it anymore? I don't know, but that was my only small qualm with the show.
Also got there in time to see one of the openers Veronica Falls. They had a nice twee male/female vocal quality that I really enjoyed. Sort like the Vaselines, but lyrically a little darker. I recognized one song I like that they played (I had to look it up today) called "Found Love in a Graveyard". I had heard this song before but had no idea they were the ones who sing it. What a nice surprise!
So all in all, a very rewarding and fun show. Although next time Drums, just add your surf jam to the set list!

Yay! Thanks for the report, John!!! I would've been there, but I was celebrating my 5-year Anniversary with a fancy meal out instead. :) Next time, for sure.
